GSS SUPERSTAR OF THE MONTH – MAY 2017
We are delighted to announce that the GSS Superstar of the Month Award – May 2017 is awarded to our colleague Mark Starling.
Mark has been with us for over a year now and has already very capably, fulfilled a variety of duties with us during this time.
From day one, Mark expressed a strong interest in working with dogs. And so, after working as our Northern Regional Manager, he completed both a protection dog handler and explosive detection dog handler training course through our training partners Malpeet K9 Academy – returning to fulfil a variety of different roles to an exceptional standard including surveillance, EDD, asset protection, warrant support and regional supervision in our southern region.
Mark is recognized through this award as living our values of Reliability and Teamwork. Mark took on a very short-notice EDD task to provide service to a very high-profile client for a number of weeks, in the wake of the recent terror attacks. Despite having to live in temporary accommodation for some of this period, Mark performed his duties superbly throughout and we have received universal praise from all who worked alongside him during this assignment.
Secondly, while on a warrant support/animal restraint task for another client, not content with just restraining the animal at the property, Mark decided to investigate an exotic smell vaguely emanating from the upper level of the premises. Upon further investigation by Mark, a substantial cannabis growing operation was discovered. The Police were subsequently informed and the resident of the property was taken into custody.

The GSS Superstar Award has become an integral agenda item of our Monthly Senior Management Meetings, during which each member of our senior team puts forward a case for nomination. While the debate is constructive (and usually fun), the final selection is never easy, as there are always award-worthy examples given of our team members exceeding the standards expected of them. So, while we can only issue one award each month, we want to sincerely thank all members of our team for their continued support and hard work for our valued clients.
